Sea Buckthorn (Hippophae Rhamnoides) is a deciduous tree or shrub naturally occurring over very large territories in Asia and Europe (China, Mongolia, India, Tibet, Nepal, Russia, Ukraine, Sweden and Norway). It originated in the Himalayan Mountains, where its natural hardiness and vigor allow it to thrive at elevations up to 14,000 feet.
Sea Buckthorn is known in China (since the Tang dynasty), Russia and Europe as one of nature’s most incredible medicinal plants. Its small, pea sized, bright orange berries have been cherished for over 1,200 years for their incredible healing, nutritive and therapeutic properties. The berries have no match in the plant kingdom for their content of carotenoids (Pro Vitamin A, tocopherols (Vitamin E), Vitamin K, Vitamin C, essential fatty acids, Vitamin B-12.
