Sea Buckthorn Berry has been cherished for over 1,200 years for it’s incredible healing, nutritive and therapeutic properties.
The classic Tibetan medical text—Sibu Yidian, written in the 8th century—devotes thirty chapters to the medicinal and nutritional uses of Sea Buckthorn (to tonify Yin and strengthen Yang). The ancient Greek scholars—Dioscarides and Theophastus—wrote about its healing powers.
Genghis Khan and his armies drank the juice of Sea Buckthorn fruit to increase stamina and speed up wound healing. In Mongolia it was believed to the source of “life energy”. In India it has been part of their Ayurveda medical system for over 500 years.
The Russian cosmonauts used Sea Buckthorn beverages in space for over 20 years to enhance their health and resistance to stress (taken orally) and cosmic radiation (using a cream). Sea Buckthorn is the first juice in outer space! In 1986 Sea Buckthorn preparations were used to treat Chernobyl victims for radiation damage.
China designated a Sea Buckthorn beverage, as their official Olympic team drink for the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.
